Associated Events
There are a number of interesting co-events and activities which will be held at around the time of the AIC-ASDAH Joint Conference. Delegates may like to take this opportunity to participate in some of them. Below are descriptions of these events and activities, as well as the hyper links to which you may find more information about them.
Center for Chinese Adventist Heritage (CCAH)
The Center for Chinese Adventist Heritage (CCAH) is a joint initiative of Adventism in China (AIC) and Hong Kong Adventist College (HKAC), established with the sole purpose to preserve historical records ad heritage artifacts associated with the history of the Seventh-day Adventist movement in China and to Chinese people. The intention is that CCAH resources will be freely available to historians, scholars, students, or interested laypersons worldwide. A special ceremony will be held to celebrate the CCAH inauguration:
Time: 3.30pm - 5.00pm
Date: Friday, 31 October 2014
Venue: Conference Room, Hong Kong Adventist College, 1111 Clear Water Bay Rd, Hong Kong, China
The celebration will be held at the conclusion of the Joint AIC-ASDAH conference. Thus there is a natural transition from the conference to the celebration event.
Representatives of Andrews University, the Wisconsin Conference, Union College, and several descendants of former missionaries to China will be present on that occasion. Their contributions to Adventism in China will be formally acknowledged. Some will also bring with them valuable historical artifacts to donate to the Heritage Center.
Those wishing to participate in the event, should email the Local Chair: Leendert Brouwer at [email protected] as soon as possible but no later than the "Early Bird Deadline" on 30 September 2014.
