Remembering Mark Peach
It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of Mark Peach, PhD, professor of History in the History and Political Studies Department at Southern Adventist University for more than 35 years.
Peach received his BA from Walla Walla College, his MA from Washington State University, and his PhD from the University of Chicago. He researched ideas of the modern and utopian ideas in 1930s Berlin, spending 1996-1997 on a Fulbright Research Grant in Germany. He loved both built environments (teaching classes on architecture and urban development) and the natural world. He developed an Environmental history class and one on Appalachian History, integrating his scholarship with his long-term project of hiking the Appalachian Trail.
He spent ten years developing the Southern Scholars, SAU's honors program, and that legacy is one of his greatest gifts to the campus. His love for interdisciplinary thinking was always on display and his colleagues will miss his humor, gentleness, and unfailing intellectual curiosity.

New Date for ASDAH Triennial Conference
April 13-15, 2023
Southern Adventist University, TN
The ASDAH planning team has met and decided to delay our triennial conference till April 13-15, 2023. We would really like to have an in-person conference hosted here at Southern, and because of the uncertainty of travel this school year and the lack of ability to plan for funding, this seemed to be the best way. If you have ideas/thoughts regarding themes or panels or elements we should include (and that you'd be happy to help with!) please contact Lisa Clark Diller at email@example.com.
Please do save the date.

All major articles will undergo a rigorous double-blind peer-review process by at least two referees, and thus will be considered as a scholarly publication.
